    JiveRobot ehat you need to understand is that a BB need to pass by the RIM server to work properly and there is no data plan it won't work... I'll repeat what I said in my last thread unless the other PDA device BB are passing by RIM SERVER not Tmo server.....
    I'm french canadian so I can also help you in french, just PM me
    UNLESS it is for a BETA OS, it's at your own risk and I won't support it

    I think this string makes it look towards a different server though

    Enter the following information
    APN: wap.voicestream.com
    Username & Password: {Blank}
    Gateway IP: 216.155.165.50:8080 {This is where the HTTP Proxy goes}

    I would like to know where exactly you're finding the Gateway IP?

    I do believe that the only time I have seen that option is when trying to configure ramble or a 3rd party app?

    Jive, anything new to report? I ordered the Pearl on Friday. I too ran across the same articile you read about using data on BBs via tmobileweb...i'm hoping to use the pearl to get on the web via that $5 plan versus adding the $20 plan...any updates would be highly appreciated.

    I just broke my contract with cingular and a treo 650 for the tmo bb pearl with min and mail plan unltd txt for 59 dollars with 1000 mins and i couldnt be happier. i loved the treo but this is wayyyyy better best phone i ever owned. cingular has better reception but everything else is better with t mo, the call never drops and the call quality i-s never degraded. 59 for 1000 mins unltd txt push email and unltd data is unbelievable, it provides internet access to my laptop and is wayy faster than the treo online. for get tethering with the treo. treo for sale on ebay soon to pay the etf

    This will vary from where you live. In my experiance in the DFW area, TMO has better reception and is able to hold a call much better than Cingular. For me, Cingular may not have dropped the call, but the QUALITy of the call would be that many time I could only hear every 2nd or 3rd word a caller was saying. VZW may be "can you hear me now" but Cingular, for me was definatly.."WHAT?? WHAT??"

    Again, YMMV depending on where you live.
