Difference between OZ and RIM Messengers

So I just reinstalled the 4.2 OS after playing around a fair share with the 4.3 beta. Granted it was working great for me but I found myself wanting to use the camera too much and forgetting it was broken so I went back :P

Anyhow, I am curious now, I just reinstalled it and uninstalled the OZ messenger and installed the free RIM Aim and WLM (msn) to my phone and I honestly cant tell a big difference between the 2 but I always see people say they hate the OZ one. What is the big difference between the 2 other than OZ is SMS and RIM's is data? Is it faster?

    Thanks

The OZ messenger uses SMS text messages instead of DATA. That seems to be the biggest difference.

How are you getting 4.3 beta? And can you get it for a 8830?
I am sure the answer is no!

You can no longer get the 4.3 beta. Have to wait for the full version to come out.

How did you get the aim and msn from the RIM site to work on the pearl?

Logging in and out of aim takes too long with the OZ application on my pearl 8100. Not to mention the fact that running the program while talking, or in the background while doing other things, sucks up your battery quick.

Instead, I logged into AIM on my PC, and I set it to forward all my instant messages to my phone when I'm offline. So when I sign off, instead of dissappearing off my friends buddy lists, I'm still there and they still send me messages. I get them in my message inbox, and it ends up basically being the same thing, without the wait and battery usage.

It uses SMS, but eh. I have unlimited data and texts, so not much worry.

    Edit:

I only use AIM, so that's the only one I know works this way. It's simple to register. Sign up, it sends you a confirmation code to your phone, which you type online to confirm that it is your phone, and your done.

Yahoo, ICQ, or MSN, though, I don't know if they have the same forwarding feature.

I know Yahoo does. I don't like MSN because it doesn't send u the message. It tells u who sent the message. ICQ does the same as Yahoo and AIM. You get the message in your inbox.
