Theres tons of pics that have a little lock next to them that I want to delete so I can free up memory. Anyone know how to do that?

As you said, they are LOCKED. No way to remove them.

Locked by manufacturer but not forever. I was able to delete all the locked stuff on my razr, increase memory and add video function. Theres gotta be a way to do it on the pearl.

There is definitely a way because one day I was messing around and deleted all my pictures and ringtones, even the locked ones. Never figured out exactly what I did, but can assure you it is quite possible. I did it on a 7100i, but if you can do it on one, you should be able to do it on all.

Hahahaha, if you want to do things on Pearl, that you did on your Motorola, you will be veeeery disappointed.
BlackBerry is the most secured device and there is no tampering with the firmware like in the case of motorola.

@cp6169 - it must have been some glitch or something. OR maybe it is possible through some PC software?

Maybe you managed to hide them? There is such an option. However whenever I try to use it to hide some files on me Pearl it simply transfers me back to the main screen.

Actually, in the 8700 Pictures App, there is no option to hide them, only delete. And it does remove them from the list. And this time, they didn't come back when I pulled the battery. Do you want screen shots?

Yes, RCBJR is right...for the 8700 series. I have both 8700 and 8100 and in the 8100, the preloaded pictures are locked so there is no way to delete them.
