    I would love to know this also...or maybe how to have them saved to the media card since the sim has barely any room on it...

    afrikandesi, Welcome to PinStack.

    One way is to go to your Messages App and press S. change the Type to SMS This should show only the SMS messages in the list. Then scroll to the first message you want to delete and press the Num key. While holding the Num key, scroll to the last Message you want to delete and press the DEL key.

    Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with your BB.

    Go to the date above where the messages start, then menu, then Delete All Prior. That deletes all the messages prior to that date start time (should be all those below the date). Or you can hold # and scroll/highlight the ones to delete and hit Delete.

    You can also download the Zen theme and it will put all text messages into a seperate folder, then you can manage them easier.

    RC: for SureType, the shortcut is ALT + S to display SMS.

    CP: the Zen theme for 8100 doesn't separate SMS/MMS from the Messages list.

    Follow either of these suggestions, ALT + S will filter the Message list to display SMS only. Then press 1 to go to the very top, click the pearl, delete prior.

    Or scroll and highlight.

    But nothing will prevent a "confirm delete" dialog box when deleting multiple items.

    As well, the BlackBerry will not store SMS on the SIM, all SMS are stored on the BlackBerry internal memory. With 64 MB, you should have plenty of space for SMS, as compared to just the SIM memory.

    Works perfect.

    This phone is a good phone - just a little getting used to. My reception sucks though - I had better reception with the RAZR. I guess nothing can be done about that though huh?

    Not that I have that phone and people are going to think I am nuts, BUT I get the best reception with the Zen theme.. Its as if something was changed in the software once I activated it. Crazy I might be, Nuts... well lets not go there.. LOL

    Wasn't sure that it was the same for the pearl, so just wrote out what would.
    Thanks for the confirmation.

    you can also delete a message sequence by press/holding SHIFT and tracking up or down.

    this method is available on the 710Xn models, and i would imagine the Pearl as well.

    RC: it's a subtle difference, but qwerty BlackBerry doesn't require the extra keystroke of ALT for doing filters.

    SureType requires ALT + something for filters because the numbers all do different functions without pressing ALT.

    1 = all the way to the top

    7 = all the way to the bottom

    4 = ahead one day

    6 = back one day

    3 = page up

    9 = page down

    That's why I was always confused by you qwerty people all hyping these "shortcuts" that don't work!

    And I just discovered that:

    2 = up one

    8 = down one

    5 = open currently highlighted

    Even I am learning things!

    Hi mate, interested by what you saying about the shorts cuts...I use the 8700 but do also have 7100x that i use occasionally..(long story), However the one thing i like on the 8700 is the short cuts in messages and home screen...Are you saying i can do all of these on the 7100x but press Alt first?

    a) Sorry for the intrusion
    b) Thanks for the help in advance

    I'm not so sure, there is a difference, On my 8700, pressing 'S' in the message app opens the search page for creating a new filter. ALT+S is the preset SMS Filter itself.

    But thanks anyway.
