Hey thanks for the reply. I went to do what you said to do, but it wasnt available to delete. I then tried to see if i could load the Instant Messaging App, but it didnt load up how it should, it loads up the BB browser and i get the 404 Error. Any thought?

    ok part 2
plug in the bb to your computer, launch desktop manager> hit app loader, a menu will appear uncheck the box for OZ instant messenger or bb messenger, if that's what you are after.
then next and all will be deleted, also to clear up more space uncheck the languages you don't need.
    should do the trick!
    then a batt pull
phone on, batt out 30 sec then back in, let us know!

I hate to be that guy, but i don't see the IM in there. Its almost like i deleted something before that the IM App needed and now its stuck on my phone, and wont even work. Like i said, whe i try to load the IM it just opens up the browser and i get a 404 error. i tried the battery pull as well. its no big deal, i just wish i knew why it isnt showing up in the application folder.

no worries, when you get a minute try the desktop manager and let me know.
if you tried to delete it then try this.
go options>advanced>applications hit menu then modules, see if it is in there delete the module then do a batt pull and let us know

Any idea what the exact name or names it would be under in the modules folder?

    Re: Deleting IM Software?

sorry if i am confused, is the question about how to remove the shortcut in the BB Menu listing called Instant Messenging, since the Instant Messengers aren't actually there? if so...

    1) you could actually download/install the Instant Messengers if you wanted to, via BB Browser, here:
    www. tmobileapps. com/ downloadcenter/ files/ oz/ pearl/ instantmessaging.jad
there are more details about how to do this, if you need them, here:
    blackberryforums. pinstack. com/ 16210-help_blackberry_instant_messaging_t_mobile. html

    2) i have no idea if you install the Instant Messenging, and then delete it, would the shortcut to Instant Messenging still appear in the BB Menu? i finally figured out how to get it working (installed), so i am afraid to delete it. maybe someone else knows about this.

    3) you could use the BB Menu, scroll to bottom of list, open 'Organize Applications' then scroll to highlight 'Instant Messenging' then use the BB Menu to 'Hide Application'....

    Re: Deleting IM Software?

I was able to get rid off tmo IM compteley doing following: before deleting one should first delete in Options\Advanced Ooptions\service the link corresponding to IM, then delete the application. Then the icon will not even appear. If the first step is not done then icon will appear after restaring... but the application will not be there - it will just prompt to install it.
Let us know if it helps.
