Define a theme?

I have been looking a what is considered a "theme" and I have downloaded to my PC the "BB DImension Today Plus" and tried it. I have looked at other pics, but I don't get what a theme is exactly.

    So my question(s):
Is a theme: Just icons and a background and a setup of pictures on screens such as the home, dialing, etc..

    or is it

An interface style, like by putting All icons on the home screen or the location of the icons, what is being displayed like in the today screen?

What I am looking for is a theme like the "BB Dimension Today" that displays a longer calendar list (instead of two) and doesn't display the call log and applications.

I would try to make it if possible but I just haven't seen anything like that. I found you can make themes for the 87xx series but nothing for the 8100 pearl? Any help with this would be appreciated.
    thanks

    Hap

It is kinda both. Some themes place icons in different locations and display the home page differently. Some themes show you a 1 by 1 listing of menu options thats only scrollable up and down while others show you icons that the trackball can move about freely.

Some themes change the color of selected items and such.

As for a "longer" calendar list I'm not sure what you mean. Would you please elobrate.

Everyone with a Pearl is going through Theme withdrawl and is desperatly waiting on 3rd party themes and hopefully an editor so we may create our own (say in Plazmic).

Apparently you can with every other BB but Plazmic currently does not support the Pearl 8100. Everyone in this forum group is waiting for when this is no longer the case

    ah i see. [/confusion]

At least you have light at the end of the tunnel though! My 7230 thinks a theme is the music you hear over a film.

    Re: Define a theme?

    A longer calendar list.

If you have the Today theme it shows something like:

    ---------------------------------
Messages ..............................
message from Bob ..................
message from Suzy ................
Calendar ...............................
appointment 1 .......................
appointment 2 .......................
Call Log ................................
..........................................
..........................................
Applications ............................
    ---------------------------------

I was looking for something like this:
    ---------------------------------
Calendar ..............................
appointment 1 .....................
appointment 2 .....................
appointment 3 .....................
appointment 4 .....................
appointment 5 .....................
appointment 6 .....................
appointment 7......................
appointment 8 .....................
.........................................
Applications .........................
    ---------------------------------

You could just leave your calendar open.. and view under appointments for the day. You can switch days by scrolling down.

Sorry.. the view is under... View Agenda

    Hapyfishrmn, Welcome to PinStack.

I really don't think what you want is available. As BLACK ICE said you could leave your Calendar open and use the ALT+Menu to go to the home screen when you need to do something else. As to making your own themes even with the other BBs the choice of what you can make is limited to the base themes layout. I'm sure that Plazmic will eventually support the Pearl, we just have to be patient.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.
