Ok I just went to phonescoop.com and the Pearl listed for FCC approval is the 8110 (Rogers). On the page where new phones released are listed, the 8130 shows up. The 8120 is listed as a new phone on Phonescoop.

I can go either way i started using my first suretype back in 04 and before that it was full qwerty back in late 2000 and early 2001 using the good old 950. It was a pain to get use to suretype but now its seems to be easier for me to type suretype compared to my clients qwerty keyboard BB's

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, some1 said 2 thmslvs "U knw, I really want 2 set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close engh to get the job done".

Well I talked to a tmobile guy and I'm not sure if he was misinformed or mistaken but he said he didn't know about the pearl 2 but he said the 9000 will be coming out very soon for tmobile.
He was talking out of his back side. I have two contacts pretty well positioned in the food chain and they don't have the foggiest how soon. One thing is for sure, AT&T nor T-mobile have locked in exclusivity rights to launch and until that happens, there is no way to even give a guesstimate month. Chances are it would go to AT&T first anyway since they not only have the money to make a better offer, but the superior network platform to debut the 9000 in North America. T-mobile has yet to launch their 3G network, so it would be unable to take advantage of the 9000's support of UTMS/HSPDA and would have to rely on EDGE. The first 3G berry going to a 2.5G provider?

I have a strong feeling we (tmo customers) will be waiting a fair amount of time after initial release as we did with the Curve. I'd project no sooner than Oct of '08.

The 8120 has already been available thru either Suncom or Cincinnati Bell, for at least a couple months. It is frustrating that Rim and/or T-Mobile have been dragging their feet making this handset available. Make me want to look for something elst.

You could just try to find an unlocked SunCom 8120 then since T-Mo just acquired them a few months ago.

LOL not angry. I've never really *had* t-mobile. I tried them out for 2 hours last week and it was ridiculous quality. Sure they're the cheapest, but as many people have stated on here before, "you get what you pay for." Maybe I was just spoiled by AT&T? Anyway, I ended up going with VZW as well. I'd rather pay over $100 a month and know I'm getting something I can rely on.

That's actually one of the only forums I saw that had a date that far back. At another forum, I forget which, was around Marchish. Otherwise, everywhere else I've seen the release date for Feb 18th

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~well unless t-mobile is hiding it from there employees they haven't said anything about it at all.

Re: Date for the 8120 launch?

Any speculation by those more in the know than me on the relative likelihood of April versus February 18th? I think I'd switch providers before I'd wait until April, and I really do like T-mobile. I feel Verizon's going to have the Pearl 4 before T-mobile gets the 8120.
