    Data with no Incoming calls/messages?

Anyone know how to use your bb 8100 as a tethered modem or just basic bb internet browsing and have the phone calls & messages turned off? That way, you are not interrupted.

    Thanks

On my 8830, when in Tethered mode, it blocks phone calls and messages...emails anyway. You can still get SMS but incoming calls go straight to voice mail.

If you are using your BB Internet Browser, you cannot disable incoming calls or messages because the only way to do this is to turn your "radio" off and if you did this, there would be no more browsing on the internet.

Well, i haven't been interrupted yet while tethering. I just heard of other people having this issue and don't want this to happen. I just started tethering yesterday. I know you can block sms, mms, internet, etc. But no to incoming calls.

That's correct...you can go into your firewall settings and block incoming messages but if you are just browsing on your BB internet browser, I don't know why you would want to do this. It doesn't interupt your "surfing" or anything. I tether all the time and I have never had a phone call interupt me while I am tethered and there have been many times when I have disconnected from the internet and it shoots me my emails and voice mails that I received while tethered.

As I recall on the 8100 you do lose your tether / internet connection if you answer a call however if you ignore the call I dont think it will disconnect you. I also found it quite easy to re-connnect if I took a call.

    I FIGURED IT OUT!

When you setup/edit a profile, go to the PHONE option on the list ...
All the way at the bottom there is an option called DO NOT DISTURB with a yes/no checkbox. Simply check YES to activate. This allows calls to popup as a missed call on your phone(PHONE DOES NOT RING) and then goes directly to voicemail.

No need to download any additional software!

After searching through a gazillion posts LAST NIGHT, i just played with my phone a little and found it. WORKS LIKE A CHARM.

    Hope this helps!

ps.. this is my first post... YAY
