Yeah, get the BB plan and it will go away. It did on mine at least.

That's exactly what it means--there's no data plan on th device. Like the others have mentioned, it'll go away once you sign up for a BB data plan. Otherwise, it'll stay there.

I'm new to BB, I just recently purchased BB pearl without data plan. I was wondering if I can download tomtom maps from my laptop to my BB and will I be able to use it? thanks:-)

I've had this message on a few devices where the sim card has developed a fault, transferring onto the phone number onto a spare (blank) sim usually resolves it.

No, the only way that your BB can have any connectivity to the internet is if you have a data plan. So without it TomTom, or any program that downloads information from the internet won't work without the data plan.

A data plan is usually required to run most applications. Do you plan on getting one?

    Re: Data connection refused

Well... as everyone said it is most likely no data plan... but you can remove it if you just want to use your pearl as a regular phone: go to Applications -> Options -> Network -> Turn "Data Services" OFF -> Save -> Go back to applications -> disable/enable your wireless coneection -> The message should disappear.

P.S. Note that without a data plan you won't have access to a browser and MMS

    Hope it helps.

You can call your service provider and they will be able to help you choose the right plan.

    Re: Data connection refused

hey if u already have a data plan this means that your device is not recognizing your data plan. go to settings-options-advanced options and host routing table, click the menu button and then register now, then u might wanna try turning the wireless off and ten back on, this should resolve the problem ONLY IF YOU HAVE AN EXISTING DATA PLAN ON THE ACCOUNT

More than likely he experienced the same thing I did and it was actually a network issue. It lasted a good 20 hours.
