    Crushed Pearl

I had my blackberry pearl for 5 days before it was ran over by a car and NO INSURANCE. the screen lights up but doesnt work, the keypad is scratched, the pearl is scratched, the screen is broken out just a little bit where the led indicator light is, basically the entire front of the phone is badly scratched. Question is is there a way to buy an entire new assembly because the phones internals work but i can see anything...

I'm asking your question also after seeing a picture of a red pearl.. Just wondering if its possible to switch colors without buying a new pearl

Your best bet is to sell it for parts on ebay and buy a new one, or keep it yourself for spare parts.

    Re: Crushed Pearl

Same thing happened to me (although it was slammed in a car door). So I put up a wanted ad on craigs list and said I was looking for a scratched, broken, or otherwise unsell-able pearl for $100 as long as the screen worked. RIM wanted $190 to repair it or over 200 for a replacement. I found one that looked pretty bad and was missing the perl but the screen worked, so I bought it. I took the body from my old one and the working innards from the new one and now I have a working pearl in good condition. I am was out $100 but it is better than the other option. The pearl is very easy to disassemble and repair so it was a good option.

There was a thread a little while ago that had the whole OEM cases. Can't seem to find it though. It was within the past few days though. I'll see if I can find it.

5 days ago? You can probably add insurance on it still then call it in for insurance.... And pay the deductable... Worth a try.. Cuz you have 14 days until you can't add insurance to the phone..

    Ha! I found it.

Check out this site. It has OEM cases at least. I haven't purchased from them but it seems like the only site that I can find for now that has them.
