    Creating Folders for Applications

    Hi All,

Is there a way to create different folders for applications. Exmple: I want to create a folder that will have all the games I have; another for the different email addresses that I use.

    Thanks All!

as of now here is now way to create your own folders.

best thing to do would be to find a theme that fits best what you want. im not sure there are many themes for the pearl. maybe srl or one of the theme guru's can jump in here

I like the zen theme because there are 5 icons on the main screen and you choose what they are, the rest of your icons go into the a seperate menu, the 6th icon.

As mentioned, certain themes clean this up a bit with the 'Applications' folder. I organize mine by grouping by rows: games, Im, etc.
Also, remember, with icon themes you can scroll down with Alt+scroll to save having to scroll horizontally through all the icons, just go vertical.

Hey Ben, That is true with the all but the Pearl. With the Pearl, you don't need to use the ALT key. The rollerball works both ways. Just one thing that offsets giving up the Landscape Layout and qwerty keyboard. At first I didn't think I would like loosing the Trackwheel, but after a few days it seem to grow on you.

    Re: Creating Folders for Applications

Somewhat related question: My BB Messenger Icon is currently in the Applications folder, and I'd rather have it on the Desktop, but can't seem to figure out how to move it up out of that folder. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome; this community is great and has already answered a ton of questions for a first-time BB owner. I'll try changing themes. I've got a Pearl, btw.

In the Zen themes, the first 5 icons in the applications view are the ones that appear in the desktop view. See if that is your issue, henchmyn.

I suggested folders for APPs to RIM a few times. Hopefully, they'll come through.
