    Continued desktop installation problems

    Hi all, this is my first post so I will try and get it right!!

    I have been installing the desktop redirecting software on 5 workstations and 2 have gone fine, the others have come up with the error numbered 1720. Which after searching this site I downloaded the windows script 5.6 to solve. After doing this an error came up upon re-boot and upon trying to re-install the blackberry software the error 2738 came up. Can anybody direct me to how I can solve this and install the software correctly????

    Type "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" in the Run Command box and hit OK. You may want to fully uninstall the Blackberry software and then reinstall it. Are you using the latest versions as well? Don't just use the CD version. Let me know.

    CHeck your Providers Web Site. the version on the CD is usally a month or 2 behind depending on the device. the Pearl Came out last year so is a little more behind

    Tom, follow pda.teck's advice and check your provider's site for the latest version of your Desktop and Device software. Most likely you will redirected to Blackberry's download site, but it is always a good idea to check the providor's site first.

    Do you really need to use Redirector? YMMV but it's not reliable in my experience.

    I tried it and this error code came up -

    DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll

    Any idea what this means?

    I could not find any part of the software to unistall.

    Any help?

    I do until our server arrives, but they have been saying soon for some time!! what does YMMV mean?

    It installed so easy on my machine that I would have thought the rest would have been fine...little did I know!!

    I can't find anything on the O2 site, but the software that installed on mine is verion 4.2 which according to the blackberry site is the latest - although I need to install the 2 service packs.

    Another thing is that now a script error comes up when my spam software starts up!!!

    On one of the workstations the software installed fine, but the phone has a message - data connection refused on the screen. It is still receiving sms messages and making calls. We have a data plan because 2 out of the 5 phone are working fine and they are all on the same contract. This appears to be a mine field.

    Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have three phones on my contract, but only one has a data plan. It's per phone, not per contract. At least that's how it is here with at&t.
