I have quite a few songs on my newly installed 2 GB card--works great. Is there any way to compress the size of the song files without having to reload them on to the card? Thanks,
    Bill

Probably not...You will probably have to compress them on a computer and then reload them onto the card...

that's what I did...i just moved the music folder onto my desktop and did a batch conversion to change them all to variable bit rate. Originally I had 1.85GB of music on my 2gb card (which is technically only 1.89gb or something), changing them all to variable bit rate I was able to reduce it to about 1.65GB with no perceptible quality loss.

Can someone point me in the direction of how to do a batch compression of the entire music folder? Thanks!

i have cooledit which is a music editing program and it has a batch conversion property.

not sure what else is out there that can do batch conversions, but i'm sure they're out there.
