    commnication error from software detecting blackberry

    hi, i'm having problems with desktop software detecting my pearl 8130. tried different versions of software same result. (commnication error) i got it to work for a couple of minutes then it quit. any help would greatly be appreciated thank you

    Does the computer itself detect the hardware?

    make sure that you have installed the device software.
    what version of DM are you using?
    like jay_man asked does your computer see the phone?
    it may be as simple as setting your communications port back to USB (don't know if it will auto switch back to USB)

    Might also be an issue with the USB cable or USB port.

    Ive just had exactly the same thing happen to me. Its been working fine up till now and now all of a sudden when I connect USB cable it recognises it for a few few seconds (on device only not computer) and then disappears.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Try another USB cable. If that doesn't work, examine the USB port on your device closely. Could be a bent pin in there.
