    Close Push To Talk

This may sound nitpicking, but I notice how some applications such as Push to Talk, and Blackberry Messenger are always open in the background, evidenced by ALT - ESCAPE. Seeing as I don't subscribe to push to talk, nor use Blackberry messenger, I was wondering how to get these to close completely, I don't want to necessarily uninstall them, but just get them to not be open.

if you have them installed, they will run in the background...or...you will see them in the application switcher

you can uninstall both of them, then you won't see them

im not for certain, but i believe if you go into your Java folder and delete everything with ptt in it, it will removie it off your phone. why dont we wait until you do that until someone who has done this chimes in!

Yep ^^ in the java folder here:

    C: program files/common files/research in motion/shared/loader files/

Open the OS file and then open java folder and delete all files with PTT in the file name

Yep. This does the trick. If it makes you nervous to outright delete the files, simply rename the file extension from .cod to .old in the loader files folder.

Then when you connect your phone to DM and run app loader, it will not see the .cod files, so it will remove PTT from your phone. If you ever find yourself wanting it back, all you have to do is rename the extensions to .cod and reverse the process.
