Choosing the best OS for BB 8100

    I'm a newbie, i've got a BB 8100 with OS 4.2.0.73.....

I'm totally foxed by the myriad of OSs avilable for upgrade.... I went about searching on google and also this very site, but there's no comprehensive discussion or information about the best OS that has more pros and less cons than the rest....

Can anybody help me out.... I'm stuck deep...

Sorry if its a spam.... i really tried to search this forum for a related thread... but couldn't find one...

    Thanks in advance....

What you are asking us relative in so many ways! It Depends on what you want, your experience and technical knowledge with electronics, your carrier has some bearing although most would argue not much. I could go on and on, so I guess my Q: is what are you wanting to do or change by doing a software change?~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

If you experienced guys were given a choice to pick an OS, what would you choose?

the most stable, and one recommended here on the Stacks is the 4.2.1.109. I installed it on my 8100 and my wifes 8100-works really well (both are AT&T)

    Yeah...for an 8100 the 4.2 is best...the 4.5 gives the 8100 too many glitches..

You're welcome. Check out jdellasala's blog on all the latest OS. http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/blog.php?b=86 I went back to it and he has listed the 4.5 Voda as the latest. You may want to give it a shot, he knows what hes talking about. The 4.2.1.109 is from Rogers. Anyway good luck and welcome to Pinstack!
