    Changes between T-Mo's OS 64 to 103?

Thought it might help others if we were to create a list of the changes between T-Mobile's OS .64 and the new OS .103.

If you could, copy my list below, add any items I may have missed, then paste it into your post. If I have an item which I was mistaken about, feel free to delete it from the list. That way, there will be a complete list in the last post of this thread.

What I've noticed changed, between OS .64 and the new .103, is a new calculator? (Not sure, but I believe the calculator looks different than before. Didnt' really use it more then once or twice, during the three weeks I owned my Pearl with OS .64.

Media Player now has scrolling text, and additional info.

Got rid of the ability to switch between SureType and Multi Tap using the "SYM" key (booo)

Agenda view... am I mistaken, or does it now have a blue background on today and future dates, while earlier dates are white? I don't remember that before, could be wrong. If I"m wrong, please feel free to delete it from the list, then repost list with any items you've discouvered.

    Changes:
    1. New Calculator
    2. Media Player upgraded - Song title now scrolls, additional info
    3. Agenda view
    4. Added option to turn on/off auto backlighting
    5. SureType/Multi Tap- can no longer toggle with SMB key
    6. Added t-zones browser, Instant Messaging and Picture Messaging for non data customers
    7. Daylight Savings Time Patch
    --------------------------------------------------------------

I haven't noticed the daylight savings patch, but I assume it's there. Is this due to a bug, or is it in response to Congress extending daylight savings time? Anyone know?

    Anyone notice any others?

How is there instant messaging for non-data users?

Just like on non smart phones, which would allow users to send Short Text Messages the new OS allows non BB Data subscribers to send text messages, but there may be an additional charge.

Non data subscribers can also now use Blackberry Messanger! This is a great feature, which I use quite a bit! It goes through RIM's system, so there's no charge for using it.

Sorry, I don't use instant messages, and use SMS pretty infrequently, so I'm not that up to speed.

However as I understand it, previously, Pearl owners who didn't pay the extra $20 or whatever for a data plan couldn't even send text messages, which, again, most basic cell phones allow users to do.

When deleting email I used to have "delete on handheld" and "delete in mailbox and handheld". Now I just have "delete" like I did with txt/sms messages. I'd like to have that back so I don't have to delete stuff twice (BB and PC).

I noticed the alarm will come back on if you don't hit anthing. Before it wouldn't come back on if you say, "slept through it" lol

Good to know that thanks. I remembered that my pc at home may have outlook running so the emails may be dl'ed already.

    Try this:

    Messages->Options->Email Reconciliation

    Change "Delete On:" to "Prompt"

The DST patch is integrated into the OS. The .64 release was out in use prior to the DST change mandated by Congress. All the releases since .73 (I'm pretty sure it was that one) have the DST patch included in the OS.

Thanks. You'd think that the bb would simply update the time wirelessly, and not need a patch to fix.

    Oh well....

    10. Power off options: Turn off or Full Power Off (will this put an end to the need for battery pull?)
