I really, really want to get A2DP support on my pearl. I know that the Curve has OS 4.2.2 which supports A2DP and I know that the only solution is to get OS 4.2.2 on my pearl...so will I totally screw up my pearl if I install the OS from the 8300 on my pearl???

Plus a2dp is a physical build as far as I know, so software wouldn't matter

a2dp Bluetooth profile stack will supposedly be supported for the pearl in the 4.2.2 OS upgrade, among other things as well, which will be coming out soon.
alot of people said that the pearl was unable to use anything past a 2gb card because of supposed hardware limitations, but now we see the pearl able to use the sdhc card technology thru the most current OS upgrade, meaning that the functionality was there from the start but not yet implemented, same thing goes with the a2dp support, just give it some time.

or if you don't mind a simulated version of it try giving dollar5 media player a go, you can test it out for a week I believe and it supports music via bluetooth, however it's not true a2dp quality so it sounds like the quality level when you are a phone call. If nothing else it might be able to hold you by until the official support comes out.

all you have to do is pair the bluetooth headset normally with your phone and then have it connected and simply go into the media player and play music
