Sorry you are having a problem, Start by taking the battery ou with the phone on. If that doesn't fix it may need to relaod the Software. but a battery pull will probly fix it. a softwere error or the memory is too low.

Go to Options > About and you should be able to find out what version you're running. It should look like 4.3.xx.xx something like that.
Also, go to Options > Status and check how much free memory you have.

Once you find out what your OS version is, you can check this page and find out what the latest OS from your carrier is.

Ok, it's clearly not a memory issue, plenty free. Check the link above and find your carrier to download the latest OS.

not to argue but I would still try a battery pull. Its not super low, but I pull mine if i get below 20, and uless this person loaded a ton of stuff right off, being below 20 after one day is not too good

Check this thread for info about freeing up more memory:
    http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...the_pearl.html

But the latest OS for the 81xx is either 4.2.1 or 4.2.2 depending on your carrier. Both which have many bug fixes from the 4.2.0 variant.

That explains a lot. Make sure you get a memory card to store your pictures and ring tones on this will free up the phone memory for phone oerations, And then follow the Link BenMarvin gave you , reloading the OS on a used device is always the best option

you got it off ebay? that MAY be your problem right there. why was the guy who had it before you selling it? have you checked all the water damage indicators on the device and the battery?
