Camera is too dark or too white after 4.5 upgrade.

Tried all the different settings. Nothing works. I use my camera too much to have it be crap. Is there a way to fix it?
Life is like a movie, you've sat through half of it and its sucked so far, it probably isn't gonna get great right at the end to make it all worthwhile. you shouldn't get blamed for walking out early

BB 8100 with v4.5.0.44 (Platform 2.7.0.61). Did a wipe before upgrade, but the instructions I got on here didn't tell me to remove my memory card. I had to remove stuff from card and format it. I reloaded everything on the card and removed two bad files. I don't think that would mess with the camera though.

upgrading with media card in is hit and miss. I have yet to have any issues...that said - it should not affect the white balance on your camera. If the problem persists, here is a newer ATT 8100 OS 4.5.0.110:

Ditto what Gary said, the earlier versions of 4.5 had VERY bad camera quality, but were much improved from .81 and up.

Does it get better than the 4.2 camera was? More options would be nice.

^^I don't know about better, but it certainly isn't worse. Some say the quality is a bit better.

I would recommend the upgrade without media card installed.

I don't think it adds even one single new option, and unfortunately with the 8100 you won't get video either (which was one of the main draws of 4.5)

Yes, most definitely upgrade to a much more recent OS. The camera from the earlier betas were awful.

I learned the media card thing the hard way. The thread I followed said nothing about removing the memory card.

I will be able to tell about the quality. I have 1400 pictures saved on my sd card. I take a lot of pics.

I also wish it had video. Its killing me not having it.

Downloaded the 4.6 desktop manager and it won't let me update since I still have 4.5 on my phone. I have to use that jl commander thing to put my phone back to 4.2 and then install the newest att 4.5 os?

If so, then how long would all that take? I thought the 45 minutes was a long time lol

    neon,

Should not be an issue and should not require the wipe. Did you delete the vendor.xml file?

Yes. I deleted the vendor file. I also took my memory card out and ininstalled my old desktop manager before installing the new one. It said there was no new upgrade.
