LOL, I feel like the first question should have been, "by any chance do you own a red pearl?"

Sounds like you got it fixed?

    Re: browser disappeared?

I had the same problem after trying to clear up some of the the unwanted language support.
You have to reinstall the actual Blackberry software (not just the desktop manager) I am on Cingular/AT&T and had to use their version or it would not work. I tried posting a link directly but am a newbie or something so I can't - so go to your carrier and follow the links for the software update, don't try getting the "standard" platform from Blackberry.

If you have an old desktop manager, it is probably best to run latest service pack first.
Then download and install the Blackberry software itself (in my case, Blackberry Pearl (Red, Maine Slate) - I think this happens more often with the reds so there is probably a difference.

I reran app loader and on first restart it didn't appear to have changed, browser and other options were still gray/unavailable to me. Then I ran it again and the links and browser functionality returned.

I'm not sure if this is a product of carrier-generated locks but it seems worthwhile to go with your own carrier to get the software to save yourself the time and headache if it is.

    good luck.

I just noticed I am 4 weeks behind someone who sent this answer but I looked for it yesterday and didn't find it so hope this helps anyway.

so using the application loader i deleted all the language packs, but before i did anything i did a backup save, and i was just looking at my phone and noticed something different and all of my browser options are gone and i don't know what i can do to get them back, i tried the restoring my BB but it didn't seem to do anything.

    can someone PLEASE help me.
