bluetooth from 8800 to 8100 - "failed to find service"

    okay.

im a seasoned vet in the bb world but this is killing meh.

i have tried to send a ringtone via my 8800 to my 8100 and it consistently responds with "failed to find service."

i have pulled the battery on both.
i have deleted the profile on both and redone the pairing
i have changed the settings from:
    trusted: yes
    encryption: disabled

what else is there left? it has a sim card from a friend on it. im about to pull out my hair!!!

Hmmmm. Okay well first connect them like you would a normal bluetoo headset. On the device that you're sending files to go to media music menu receive using Bluetooth and then on the blackberry your sending files from go to the file you want to send and press menu and send using Bluetooth then find the device you're sending it to

When you get this message do you check to see if the files are transferred.I know on my black pearl that happens if I Bluetooth video clips to it says that but when I check my BB its on there! What type of files are you transferring to it?~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Re: bluetooth from 8800 to 8100 - "failed to find service"

Has anyone found out the solution for this yet? Ive been wanting a BB for so long now and so far, there were a few things making me want to take this phone back but now I'm having the same problem with file transfer. This phone may be going back this week.

Im trying to transfer mp3s clips from my apple g5 to my Pearl to use as ringtones. Everytime i try to send the file through bluetooth on the g5 it says "Device does not have the necessary services". Can anyone help with this problem please?

Re: bluetooth from 8800 to 8100 - "failed to find service"

ok so i figured out my situation. I dont know if this will help anyone or not.

Im running a G5 dual with OSX 10.4.10.

The way i was able to transfer an mp3 to my phone was by going to my Bluetooth tab in the title bar and selecting SEND FILE. At the same time i went to the media section on my 8100 Pearl and on the menu i selected Accept File Via Bluetooth. Then on the G5 I sent the file and the phone received it. I guess because it was 'looking' for it? Thats actually kind of lame that it cant just see the incoming transfer like most phones.

If you are going between phones you might have to do that the same way. Where as the g5 is the phone with the data you want to send. I know, its lame.

The downfall is I was kind of hoping i could Browse Device on the Pearl but i'm not sure how to go about getting the Pearl to "look" for my G5 as it's trying to browse it's contents?
