    Bluetooth and Desktop Manager

    I've read conflicting points here..

Can you use BT to sync your calendar in DM? My Toshiba laptop has bluetooth, I've got the devices paired, but under connection setup in DM, the BT options are greyed out.

I've heard that this is due to bluetooth stack issues - the Toshiba one is probably outdated. If I install the Windows BT stack (which was a part of XP2, having problems trying to find it by itself), will this fix the problem?

    Thanks!

You have to use a native BT driver comes with Windows XP SP2, otherwise that option on DM will grey out

I see. Well, i remove the Toshiba installed stack, but any idea on where I can get the SP2 stack?

or how to install it (since I have SP2, I assume it's on my system somewhere)

Scan for the hardware change in Device maneger, when it dretects the BT it'll ask for driver (assuming you uninstall software driver from 3rd party) so that you let window XP take care instead.

I was able to do a Bluetooth Sync. I have a Dell Latitude D620. The Bluetooth Options was highlighted for me, so I just enabled it, added my Blackberry (after it was already paired of course) and set it to sync on Bluetooth as the default. I hit Synchronize, and it worked like a charm.

Hi Menx, do you see the BT device in Device Manager, if so try to uninstall it, then reboot your PC. It should detects it after reboot.

    Re: Bluetooth and Desktop Manager

It did see it. But it couldnt find the driver.

I've fixed it now though....this is the bizzare part. There was NO bth.inf file on my system. Downloaded it (just googled), copied into the %inf folder, and then when it detected the device it installed just fine this time. strange huh?

what driver version do you guys have? mine is 5.1.2600.2180

And unfortunately, DM (4.2) still has the BT connection options greyed out!

    any ideas?

Mine is the same as yours 5.1.2600.2180. By the way do you have BT icon on the Taskbar. You may have to set up the BT device first (Right click the icon-->open BT settings)

I am slower than you. By the way I'm glad you got it work.

No prob - should work OK though you might have to do it again if a M$ update or service pack updates the bth.inf file and for some reason you have to do a hardware update.

    Just a heads up!
