    Blank Screen, flashing red led.

I can't get my 8100 to work. I've downloaded new desktop manager, Vodafone UK os, everything that it says to do on a "how to reinstall thread".

Basically won't recognise the device when USB plugged in. Just get 3 flashes, then 2 flashes then pause on the light on the front.

    Any help gratefully recieved.

    Cheers

Has it ever worked or what were you doing when it quit working?

It did work. Just ran out of battery charged it and switched on and stopped working.

This happens sometimes, While the App Loader is on the connection screen, with the blackberry pluged in , pull out the battery and put it back in. this should help

I'm not able to do an os reload as the device just isn't recognising the blackberry when I plug it in. It's not cable, as tried others.

The pull out battery thing doesn't work either.

You pulled it while on the connection screen in Apploader while plugged in? If so then the only thing left is to call your provider for a warranty,

And you already followed the step-by-step instructions listed here: Reinstalling OS when Device not Recognized

I have seen this too actually. Happened when I needed to reflash. I tried another PC and no issue whatsoever. Oddly, the main PC that I use to sync the berry would not see it - but another PC with a fresh install of BB Desktop manager had no problems. Saw the berry and flashed it with no issues.

try removing SIM and powering up without SIM. Have seen a few of these at retail store and have been able to get device to boot clean with no SIM installed. Once device powers up, reinstall SIM and that might help. If not, get new SIM from local retail store.
