Blackberry with At&t 3G Sim card???

Hello, I'm new here and I have a 3g Sim Card and I was wondering if it would work if I put it in an Unlocked Blackberry 8100 that's on its way? If not then is there a particular kind of AT&T Sim Card I would need? I have a 3g Sim card put into a cheap Nokia phone right now and it seems to work but don't know if it would work in the blackberry pearl. Any answers would be helpful!

In theory it should work fine, but more and more carriers are locking services to devices, so that if you change your device you have to let them know. Try it. If it doesn't work, call them and tell them you need both devices to work on the account.

I have a 3G sim card in my phone but o2's 3G sim cards are backwards compatible meaning that they can also be used in 2 or 2.5G phones.
Some 3G sim cards are not backwards compatible so I am not sure if they can be used.

Do you actually get the full benifit of 3G? I was not aware of BB releasing a 3G version yet.

I've been using a 3G card in my Pearl since November or so. Card came from a Razr, and has worked fine. AT&T even recognized that I changed phones - I saw the my new Pearl on my account on AT&T's website.

Not sure if it is 3g or not, but I know that my SIM is working. Calls, SMS all work.

I do need to mention that I don't have the data plan. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. Or if the data plan would work with this SIM.

I'm in South Africa and I have been utilising a 3G Sim in every BlackBerry model released without any issues. Then again it may be carrier specific if you have problems.

I have a 3G SIM card in my phone....it is a new red AT&T pearl with an AT&T SIM card, but that doesn't mean that I am running on a 3G network as I found out the other day in another thread from a fellow stacker
