Let's hope so, the vibrating of the back cover, gives it a "twangy" sound... It's horrible...

Been there!! Drilled mine way back when I gave up my 7105t for the Pearl I was horrified at first cause you could not hear the phone ringing in loud...so I drilled 10 holes in my BB door right over the speaker...now I am a happy camper and if you dont have the bb skin like I do, sounds even better cause my bb skin cover the holes so it does not sound as loud as without it...but I am still coool with the holes sounds way better than before...LOL

I drilled holes in the back of mine and I love the difference. I can actually hear the songs in my music files now through the speaker without holding the phone up to my ear. It WA an fast 2 minute mod and well worth it!!

I drilled mine a couple of months back. Put 2 holes in the back cover. It doesn't look bad (I was careful) but I'm not convinced it made a really big difference. Perhaps more holes would help, but for $14.95 I'm inclinded to buy the one from Seidio Online.

Yeah to make it effect anything i have been told minimum of 4 holes of decent size. As i said though i would never drill. 15 bucks gets you a battery cover that doesn't look jacked and works better( ie bigger hole) And this is coming from a hick that uses duct tape for EVERYTHING.

to the new posters suggesting the new covers with speaker openings, realize this thread was started almost a year ago...before you could buy one with the opening.
