Blackberry screen won't light up?! help!

sooo i accidently dropped my pearl in water about 2 weeks ago and i haven't been able to use it since because the screen/backlight won't come on. i tried turning the phone on today and everything works fine (recieves/makes calls,recieve/send texts) but i can't see the screen. i have to hold it up against the a BRIGHT light source to see.
i would try taking it apart but i'm scared i might mess it up even more.
any suggestions on how to fix this?

well you may get lucky and only need to put a new screen in if that dont fix it I would say that you will probably have to buy a new phone

oh thanksss. would it be the LCD screen?
and would you have to take the whole phone apart to replace it?

Yes it would be called the LCD screen. I would imagine you would have to take your phone apat, but someone correct me if i am wrong. i have never had to take apart a phone so I can't tell you for sure.
