    Blackberry Pearl wont turn on

    My freind recently gave me her pearl, so i went to the tmo website and downloaded the new software along with desktop manager, it was installing the new software and all of the sudden just turned off, theres a red flashing light that keeps flashing but screen wont turn on...i have it on the charger and red light is still flashing, but screen wont power up....can someone help pls

    If this occured durring the device operating system install it may be quite normal. Did you disconnect it from your desktop already?

    yes i already disconnected it..i have it charging, it won't turn on....

    Try taking the battery out and leaving it out for several minutes, then put the battery back in and try to turn it on again!!

    I assume you will need to reinstall the OS. Take a look a this post with instructions on how to reinstall an Op Sys if your device is not recognized. I think it may be helpful.

    Yeah I agree your gonna have to do what GaryF posted. Your not suppose to remove the Pearl from the USB when it is updating. That screwed up the whole upgrading process, causing the problem of your Pearl not turning on. When your updating you have to be patient, let it do its job.

    nothing, i tried the battery pull out, even tried garyf suggestion and nothing...just a flashing red light..screen wont power up and pc wont detect

    If you cannot get to load using the below steps then it is probably time to wipe it clean. To reiterate:

    3. Pull the battery out of your device.
    4. With the battery out connect the device to the computer.
    5. Go to Options and select "connection settings"
    6. Select USB PIN this may take a few moments since there is no battery in the device. you might even have to select detect device in some rare cases.


    Try this several times before you give up. Next step is to use JL_Cmdr - this will wipe the device completly:

    I was having the same problem as mrmeth and the procedure posted by GaryF worked. As GaryF mentioned the key step is when to put the battery back in your phone. I placed the battery back in the phone when the installer was trying to initialize the device and it worked. Hope it works for anybody else with this issue. Thanks GaryF!

    Thanks for the instructions - worked like a charm with me. As my warranty was out, i was an hour away from buying a Wing at the nearest T-Mobile store

    my pearl is doing the same thing, it just keeps trying to power on but CAN'T. i can't even doing a factory reset or wipe it

    Blackberry Pearl wont turn on. Blank screen and Red light.

    As I have read, alot of people have the same problem. The phone wont turn on and the red light blinking. Mines a little different. I've dropped my phone tons of times on the floor and it would still work fine. Today I just happen to drop my phone on my BED, and now it won't turn on. So weird that the softest place to drop the phone can completely shut down my phone. I've tried everything. I was on the phone with the technical support from tmobile for about 2 hours for them to transfer me to BLACKBERRY itself, then for blackberry to transfer me back to tmobile for this to still not be resolved. I reinstalled my desktop manager, i've taken the battery out and the sim, and nothing. This has been on going for about 3 hours. Everytime i connect the USB to my pearl the light would show red for about 2 secs and then nothing. No activity at all. Also with the charger as well. Then I switched the battery and still nothing. CAN ANYONE HELP ME? i'm seriously desperate. I would really appreciate it.

    Ok i tried this but nothing happen!!!!! when i click on that url where do i go next?
