    Blackberry Pearl Rollerball Not Working

Ok.. this is so making me mad.

2 weeks ago my rollerball refused to go "down" my list. It will go "up" but not down. I pulled the battery, blew air into the thing, turned it on and off.. nothing. Then after about 4 days it started working again. Like nothing was ever wrong with it.

Today .. again.. I can't get the roller to go "down" my lists. Across and up is fine.. but not down.

    Any ideas?

Try this link... I had the same issue and this saved my sanity... It's involved, and you have to have very steady hands. My Pearl got a new lease on life.

You could also take a small amount of cigarette ash and roll it into the trackball... Its not your commun way of fixing it but it works. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I'm having a problem where the ball doesn't want to scroll left, this has happened with two different trackballs so its not the actual ball, but something in the phone itself

I would not recommend putting ashes in your phone BB link above usual does the trick.

Like I said.. It is not your standard way of fixing it, but it does get the job done. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

That freezing trackball recently happened to me. First off, some themes and programs actually affect the trackball and how it works. If you haven't changed any programs, then what you can do is take a Q-tip and dip it in rubbing alcohol and apply it to the ball while turning the ball. This worked for me. Good luck!

It has happened to me, too -- luckily it is not permanent (at least it hasn't been so up to now). The trackball would not move left -- but you get the equivalent effect by moving UP and then RIGHT.
