I vote for the Pearl. The Dash is windows based and I am not big fan of windows smartphone. While purchasing my new smartphone 2 months ago, I played with the Dash for awhile and didn't like it. Pearl got me going as soon as I started playing with it. As you can tell I love my Pearl.

TeleNAV does not work with the Pearl since it does not have GPS built in.

I stand corrected. TeleNAV now has an external GPS unit. COOL!

I've spent the last three weeks trying to acclimate to the T-Mobile Dash. It is a terrific, beautiful piece of hardware, with (IMHO) a stinky operating system. There is no question that it is more powerful and will do more cool things than the Pearl. However, I'm putting my Dash on eBay and going back to the Pearl.

BlackBerries (at least the couple that I've had) just work, and work like you expect them to. My experience with the Dash is that it is really cool, but just not reliable enough for business use. I had to reset mine (pulling the battery) almost daily. Lots of little quirks like flakey bluetooth voice dialing that works sometimes, but other times pulls up text messaging instead of dialing the phone, or other times automatically dialing the phone to the last call when my headset connected. It can't get email over Edge when connected to ActiveSync. Sometimes, when removing it from ActiveSync, it wouldn't reconnect to data. Sometimes my alarms wouldn't sync from Outlook so I wouldn't get an alert for an upcoming meeting. The status light just tells you that you are in network range and doesn't tell you when you have new email. The email client doesn't allow you to choose which account to send from for a reply. I could go on and on. Nothing earth shattering, just lots of little niggles that finally have caused me to say "enough."

I'm giving up some cool features (media over Bluetooth, Wifi, for examples) to return to the BlackBerry, but for me reliability is "job one" for my phone.

I would go with the BB. I have tried many Windows based devices in the past, and never had any luck with them. I got my hands on a Pearl, and I have been in love ever since.

Well the choice is between full q keyboard or suretype and windows has a lot more software but stability goes to the 8100
