    BB 8100 Network Time Question

    Hello All,

I travel regularly for my job...I can view my network time by going into options, time/date, etc, but I would like to have the network time on my home screen, viewable whenever I look at my phone...is that possible?

Thanks in advance for the help!

This is just a guess but have you tried changing the Date/Time Source from Blackberry to Network?

Not even sure what that feature does but thought it might be worth a shot.

    Good luck!

When you go into the Date/Time options, hit the menu key and select "Update Time" while your Date/Time Source is set to "Network."

Have you tried a battery pull? That usually fixes a lot of minor glitches.

Re: BB 8100 Network Time Question

Sorry, so far as I have seen they (BB) simply dont.

The only thing you can do is change your time zone when you travel (and that will change the time on all calendar items, for example if you have a meeting on your calendar at 2 3pm in the Central Time and you travel to NY and change to EST your meeting will now show up at 4 pm (3 CST)

Re: BB 8100 Network Time Question

Its one of those little things you get used to - I am like you, used to phones that automatically updated the time. It may well have to do with the calendar function - if the phone automatically changed time zones should it change your appointments or not (?)....

Re: BB 8100 Network Time Question

I wouldn't mind if it updated my calendar...I actually prefer it so I'm not constantly adding and subtracting hours. Oh well...I suppose I can live without the automatic home screen update...I can manage with the update being hidden in my options

Re: BB 8100 Network Time Question

you guys are right, it is due to the calendar. when you enter events into the calendar, you can choose what time zone they are in.... the phone will modify all times so that they are in your "home" timezone and check for any overlaps.
