Battery icon with red slash through it

My pearl has the battery icon with the red slash through it. I have searched on here and have found the links on how to fix it. I have gone through all of the steps quite a few times (os reload when phone isnt detected and the jl wipe).
What else can I do to wipe this thing and start over. The jl wipe isnt detecting the phone. The os reload when not reconized, goes through the steps and then says it cant reconnect to device.
I am getting aggravated with this thing.

It sounds like you need to charge the battery for a while first, so that the phone will stay on long enough to be recognized by the device. Do you not have the USB cable that also acts as a charger?

I had this problem the other night--phone would not turn on for ANYTHING and I was freaking out.

Left it plugged into the charger for a good ten minutes and it came up. Give it a try.

The only thing I can figure is that either A) you just happen to have 2 bad batteries (not very likely, I realize) or B) the physical connection to your battery posts has somehow gone bad. Assuming all of the other things you have tried (OS reloads, etc.) have otherwise been successfully loaded.

Do you have any way to try a battery that you know works, i.e. a friend's Pearl that is working, or going to a local store and trying a battery there?

Yes, Like I said I have 2 batteries. 1 from mine and 1 from my wifes phone, that works just fine.
    The usb cord works fine.
My phone worked fine the other day.
Its NOT the batteries or the cord.
    The OS is corrupt.

The only other suggestion I have at the moment is this thread. I don't know if you have tried this yet. I'm out of ideas after that. Hopefully someone else will come along with other ideas if you already used this thread.
