    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
The pearl uses a Li-ion battery, which does not overcharge and also does not require and initial charge.

Should I charge the battery when it's completely dead or should I charge it every now and then when the battery is like half way?

Does that mess up the battery?

From what I read on this forum, you're not supposed to drain it completly. You don't need to like the older Ni-Cad batteries. Our batteries don't have a memory so therefore there is no need to drain them completely.

if you have a lot of apps running in the background, then it will drain. Make sure you close you apps and not just "end call/return" to the home screen. You have to actually pull up the menu options of each app and close them. To see what apps you have running, hold down alt and press the "back" (next to the end call key) key.

I personally try to keep that number of apps running to a min. Have you dl the new OS (.71)? The battery life seems to be a little better with it.

I believe there are batteries that last longer made by Seidio. Check out there website, they also have a nice speaker back cover.

Thanks for this tip jenga1083. I did not realize you had to actually close each app after use. Hoepfully my battery life will improve (Pearl - 1 month).

I've also received a significant jump in battery life since disabling vibrate. I know, pretty obvious, but I didn't really stop and think about it until recently.

My pearl is almost constantly plugged into some computer. between my work computer, laptop, and desktop at home... I dont think I need to worry about not having power...
