    Backlight goes dim

My backlight seems like its dimmer than it use to be. At times it'll be normal brightness but usually its dark. I think i fixed it before with the backlight options but nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions?

yeah like he said is a feature that rim added to the pearl i though i was tripin when i first noticed it but it autodims whenever your in a dark place since you need less light and is brighter when you need it. I think is actually pretty cool and it does save you battery life.

the good old auto dim. You'll notice that there are people on the boards that will actually run an older OS just to be able to control the auto dim feature. My operating system doesn't let me have any control over it

If you do find you cant see it properly just hold it up to a source of light and the screen should light up to its max but only for a little time though.

    You are!

It's brighter during the day when it's light because you need more light to be able to see it. When the room is dark it doesn't have to be blaring and full blast to see it. Make sense?

i could be crazy but i think the sensor is near the LED's at the top of the screen... i have the BB silicon case and it sometimes slides down over the LED ( a little bit ) and makes the screen go dim even in bright light. If I slide the case up it brightens up. So whats my point... none really. I guess if you have a case make sure it isn't covering the light sensor and auto dim should work for you.

I enjoy comments that are prefaced with "I could be crazy but", because you never do know what is coming afterwards!!!!
    Thanks for the tip EricJMess!
