    Backlight changing

    Hi all,

I just purchased the 8100 Pearl and I am totally in love with it.

I do have one thing I am wondering about though, the backlight
seems to be changing. I have set it to 100% in the settings but
sometimes when I use it I notice that the brightness goes down
quite a lot and then stays that way (until I turn it off I guess).

Is this common? Or have I missed something in my settings.

    thanks!

It's about the brightness around you. If the Backlight is dimmed cover the LED where the Lightsensor is placed and the Backlight will be brighter.

The older OS don't have the option. Every OS before 1.66 does not have the option. If you want it then you need to upgrade.

    Re: Backlight changing

most of the folks on the stacks have updated their os for numerous reasons. there are threads here to help, if that's the way you decide to go... by the way, there is a rumor that updating the os voids the carriers warranty. so do so at your own risk
