I would personally say that at least 15mb would be considered safe, but that's just my opinion.

Do you know how to clear event and/or phone logs to free up some space?

I wouldn't say it's bad, but probably would start getting concerned when it's under 10.

    Quick memory free-ups:

Press and hold the ALT key, then type L, G, L, G. This brings up the event log. Press the BB menu button (to the left of the trackball), then scroll to Clear Log, select and delete.

Phone Logs: Go into any messages folder, press the BB menu button. Scroll down to View Folder and select. Scroll down to Phone Call Logs and select. Scroll to very top of page and press the BB menu button. Scroll to Delete Prior, select, DELETE! You can do this on any of the folders, but if you want to save stuff don't use this method because it will delete EVERYTHING in those folders!

DO A BACKUP BEFORE USING, then If something has been deleted that you didn't want you can restore back to that point

When you start deleting it will ask you are you sure? Yes or no? So no worries, but yeah do a backup before deleting.
