Application Loader

I have searched everywhere in this forum to solve this problem, but I can't still find a solution.
When I load the Application Loader it says "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator"
    Here is a Screenshot:

And whenever I try to "ADD" it says "No additional applications designed for your device was found"

I have installed all the latest software 4.2...

    Can you guys please help?

    Re: Application Loader

I had the same issue. Finally figured out where the "vendor.xml" file was located and after renaming/deleting it from the following folder: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader" everything worked fine.

Good luck and hope it works for ya. Its probably gonna just spin the hourglass for a LONG time. Let it go. Afterwards you might want to do a 30 second battery pull (AFTER everything comes back fine).

Do you have the handheld OS installed on your computer?

Have you used desktop manager before?

Again I had the exact same problem and deleting the "vendor.xml" file that I mentioned completely fixed the issue. So disconnect your BB, delete that file, reboot and reconnect your BB. It should pick up the new firmware.

Did you also install device manager when installing desktop manager? Did you execute the file when you downloaded the new updated OS? Meaning did you run after the download was complete? Take a look at bbrian's post. You will find the vendor.xml file after installing those items onto your pc.

    hawk838,

This was answered in an other thread that you posted this question in.

Have you downloaded and installed the OS Software for you BB onto your PC by executing the downloaded .exe file? This is required to allow the Desktop Manager Applications Loader to add an new application. If you installed a different carrier's OS, you will need to delete the vendor.xml file from the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader folder.

    Hope this helps

    Re: Application Loader

Was it a version for you carrier? Try deleting the vendor.xml file from the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader folder.

What version of Desktop Manager do you have installed. Open Desktop Manager and click on help/about Desktop Manager. Then check what is listed in the Device Software Tab, what is listed there?

Is that when you try to install on the PC? If so, I would go ahead and uninstall it. Obviously, there was an incomplete install at one time.

let us know how it works out.
