    Apology in advance...(unlock question)

I did a search btw and didn't find exactly the answer, but looked here too:
    http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...k_request.html

Finally got the "code" and went through the steps, each time entering the 16-digit number. At the end of the sequence, the instructions sent with the code said to depress the trackball once. I got an error message several times.

I noticed in the above thread it says to "reboot" the device, I assume, meaning to shut down and restart by going back?

Previous threads have indicated no sim card needed but....?

when entering the numbers I actually see the numbers go in, some instruction sets say hold dow the alt key--not necessary for the 8100, right?

Help! Only 6 tries left....what then?

Talk to Sanfrancisco. He is like the 8100 guru here. Or N8DBB, he also has a vast knoledge of the 8100.

never mind I double checked the IMEI # and either me or him got the IMEI number wrong.

I've been inputting the wrong code.

Oh well what's another $50? crap.

    you can delete this thread.

    I've become a cautionary tale.

And besides, it makes all of use feel better, to be reminded that we're not the only ones that does operator errors.

actually if you talk to adam (if thats who you bought it from) he might be able to help you out. i had the same issue a while back, unlocking one of my phones with him, and he cut me a deal.... maybe you should shoot him an email... he is a great guy, and always is willing to help....
