Anyway to delete MusicDemo from Preloaded Music?

    Hi everyone!

I'm currently trying to find a way to free some space on my BBPearl and I think that the MusicDemo.m4a that is located in /device memory/samples/music/ in the preloaded music folder takes wayyyy too much space. It says its 649KB which I think is a lot...

Is there anyway to delete it?? Cuz i'd like to put some songs on my BB... seems like its locked or something... anyways, WHO WILL BE MY SUPERMAN?! HELPPP!! thanks :P

Hmm, not sure, I know you can dump the sample video thru the Application loader menu in Desktop Manager; you can try that route

You either need to do 1 of 2 things. Download java loader and figure out how to use it. there are a couple of threads here but not a lot. or go into you alx file for the handheld software and delete the module for embedded media. file names will still be there either way but the files will be empty. give me a couple of mins and i will get you links.

    Hi Paopoo,

If you are having trouble with space there are a few things you can try.

In options, advanced, applications, there are several items you can delete. Themes take up a lot of space as do different language support modules. you can delete these if you are not going to use them.

Backup your info to the pc prior to doing anything. If you do something wrong let us know and we will try to help. Spamdumpster is probably the best we got on this subject so you may want to shoot him a private message with any questions you don't get answers for.

This is probably not the best way for you to start out with your new pearl....I suggest you do yourself a favor and go ahead and add a micro sd card (thats what you will do eventually anyway) and forget about deleting this file for now - I would hate to see you start a new thread here titled "I fried my new pearl "...

If you must have more device memory delete unused languages in OPTIONS-ADVNCED-APPLICATIONS

I do have to agree with garyf, this is not for the faint of heart. you may want to stick to editing the alx file rather then the java loader until you get more familiar with the device, less damage can be done that way. But ultimately the choice is yours.

I also have the same file...

I typically have about 19MB free. You might find this thread interesting on the subject of internal memory:
