So, I read press the Alt key then L G L G will help free up space on my BB pearl. I did it, but on the top right it has 3 options: Warning, Information and Debug information. I'm afraid to clear anything. What exactly is all this? What does the "Toggle" option mean? And what should I do? Please help! I appreciate any advice you have to offer. Thanks, in advance. Lourdes

It is just an event log that you are clearing....Just hit Menu, and select Clear Log, and yes, it will free up memory....

On occasion I read some of it too before clearing it. A bit of insight into low-level operations.

I set up event log so it doesn't record anything at all so I never have to clear.

When you are in event log > menu key > scroll down and press the SPACE (zero) key on every selection.

Now you never have to clear it again!

I have never had to use anything from the log so it should be okay. If any BES admins want to jump in and verify that'd be sweet!

That's funny. I was going to that very same thing a long time ago, but kept thinking: what if it actually recorded a warning that I needed to know? So, I never did it, I always have to clear it, and ofcourse, it never recorded anything I needed to know, and probably never will. Ya think I used enough comas in that last sentence?

For most users this information could be considered useless. It sure is nice for users to have it enabled when they encounter problems however. There was a huge bug in the Rogers 8800's MMS when we purchased ours and this event log helped to isolate what caused the app error 523 error (Which module crashed). We then informed RIM, sent the logs and they fixed the bug.

Countless times this eventlog has enabled us to identify a corrupt module and reinstall it instead of doing a jl_cmder wipe and OS reload. People that are also using the Beta's could greatly benefit from this info.

    This is great.

Also remember that if you add new applications you might have to go back in here and disable that applications logs.

A faster way to shut all logs instead of going one by one is doing the following:

ALT+LGLG>Menu>Options>Scroll down to first app listed>Menu>Hide all types
