    Alltel Mms Is Working Now!!!

ATTENTION: Some of you may have already figured this out, but for the rest of you here goes.....
I tried registering through the host routing table as mention in another thread, but i kept getting the red X and messages were not going or coming through, but this is what i did to resolve my issue, and now it works perfect both incoming and outgoing.
Follow the link for Cellular South's OS 4.5.0.77 and download, while it is downloading, go to program files>common files>research in motion and delete the whole folder.... then when the download completes it will install itself. find and delete the vendor file.. open desktop manager and connect your blackberry, the upgrade will start, after you are done you will be able to send and rec'v MMS... they appear in the same folder as SMS... it also adds SEND MMS to all your menus....
Worked fine on mine the first try, but with two friends, had to resend the service books and reload a second time and resend service books a second time before it worked correctly, the first time the MMS worked but it messed up some other things like fonts, and affected the * # keys....
In the end MMS works perfect, its worth it even if you have to install it twice...

**** there is a sticky for the cellular south link titled newest 8130 os 4.5.0.77*****

i resend my service books and nothing happened at first, i used the advice given on crackberry about registering through the options>advanced>host routing tables... mms appeared in my menus but when i sent them i got a red X beside all messages... and then after i upgraded to 4.5.0.77. it was all working just fine, and that was on 3 out of 3 alltel pearls.. hopefully just resending the service books like modern did will work for everyone else lord knows it is a lot less work...

Sorry you had to go thru all that I hope you are right and everyone else gets the easy way. But knowing how to fix it if it doesn't is great. Thanks for the post with the fix.

Hey Marty what Modern is talking about is like for alltel customers you open your browser and go to alltel.blackberry.com, then scroll down and click on service books, then scroll down to send service books and click then close browser

Hmm I wonder who found this out? I'm still running 4.3 and I can send and receive pics fine besides AllTel is releasing 4.5 in about a week as I found out when I called in this morning~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I didn't send service books either. Idk why the guy who started this thread is making a big deal about it. Its been working fine for me since I first brought this topic up in another thread. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

It isn't fully functional in all markets yet. I have an 8330 and an 8130. I was able to get the option for MMS by re-registering with the network. But every time I tried to send I got a red x. I then resent the service books and rebooted the device then they were saying they were sent, but when received on my 8330 they come in as "content could not be retrieved, try again later"

I have sent several from my 8330 to my 8130 and some get through, some don't. I spoke with Alltel this morning and was told it is still in testing and not fully functional in all markets yet. And I was told 4.5 is coming soon, but not give any kind of time frame or a version number.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I got mine up and running too a few hours ago actually by accident. My bb was running slow so I did a hard reset, cleared log, and resent service books. I happened to look in options and advanced and noticed the mms option on there, I was like oh cool! About time!!
