    Accept or Ignore Call

    Hi,

I am on my second 8100 and I seem to remember that on my first one, if you had an incoming call and rolled the trackball to highlight ignore, it carried on ringing, but silenced the call without any need to press any keys.
The one I have now does not do this. Do you think this is an OS issue? I am running 4.2.1.93

    Thanks
    Mike

can't you silence the call by pushing the volume button once when it rings? That's what I do when I'm sleeping and my phone starts ringing... just hit the volume and it's silenced but the phone is technically still "ringing". Only thing is that annoying person hangs up when he gets the voicemail and decides to call back immediately...

that's when I just put my phone on silent profile.

You could also get youmail which allows you set up personal voicemails, or even ditchmail which doesn't allow the "annoying" and insistent callers to leave a vm (or you can diss them but still give the poor soul option to leave a msg).

You can also ignore the call by hitting the Red End call key this will send it to your VM

You can get the same effect by pressing the "standby" button on top. The phone would continue to ring (silently of course). That's just another way....

This is how it works for me with the latest official OS:

    - choosing ignore or hitting end call button immediately boots the call to voicemail (from what I can tell)

    - hitting the volume buttons on the side silences the ring but it will keep on ringing normally
