    Question A Question or two.....

    Hello everyone,

I just have a couple questions that I need to ask. First; where the signal strength bars are it said "SOS" instead of bars. I wanted to know what does that mean?

And Second, is there a way to clean out behind the pearl? Because it feels like there is some sand or something behind there and it doesn't roll as smooth as it used to.

Thanks so much for the help!!

sos means not signal or can't connect to a network for date or voice

try using a air duster to clean it and maybe using a qtip with alcohol to clean out the track ball

    Ok great thanks Don LuiG!

I've tried the air thing and it didn't work. It's like it's stuck behind the buttons and the Pearl.

Well I don't want to ruin it. So should I just take it somewhere and have someone clean it for me? Cause I don't want to break my phone. I can't live without it... LOL.

It's fairly easy to pop off the ring with a small screwdriver and remove the whole assembly to clean with compressed air. I do not recommend taking the assembly apart though, you can buy a replacement cheap enough if it's that bad. Also, it's cause for a warranty replacement if you're still under warranty.

In answer to your first quesion; the SOS means that your sim card is either not active or it is not being read by your phone. Try removing the battery and doing a restart if that does not work you might just want to get a new sim card.

Or if you have dropped it recently the sim card may have just moved out of place so all you need to do is just fix it. That's what the problem was with my mom's pearl. Ha she came to me because it said SOS and had no idea what to do :P
