    @aswanideep, That was helpfull

    @Topic
    Well to get themes on your pearl first of all you have to find the one you want. When you download it in zip and when you extract it you should have two files .alx and .cod. Make sure you have the latest DM (Desktop manager). Than go to add software or w/e (im not at home) And than just click add, and the file you added should appear in the box than just clikc next and done...idk if this helps

    And about the AIM, if you have AT&T than aim wont work if you have t-mobile it will work and i think it should already come with the pearl if you have gotten data plan when you bought it.

    As noted, if you're with AT&T, the free BlackBerry AIM client won't work, but if you are NOT with AT&T, you can get it OTA (Over the air - just go to this link on your BlackBerry) here: http://www.blackberry.com/aim

    If you ARE with AT&T, Ramble is a free client that should work - get it OTA here: http://wireless.sra.com/ramble/

    Also, check the Mini Version Tracker link in my sig!

    The free IM clients are carrier specific...you need the service books from your carrier or RIM. You could try the 3rd Party Apps forum.

    try here : http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...n_your_bb.html

    it is for both T-mobile and Sprint
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/service...b_requirements

    To the original poster, you will need Desktop Manager AND the handheld software for your device to be able to install the themes

    If the link that Cliff provided does not work for you OZ Messenger from TMO supports AIM and works on the 8100. You probably already have that on your phone. Post back any more ??'s

    First, OZ is a terrible IM client.

    Second, it is NOT INSTANT Messaging, it is SMS Relay to the IM Network (hence, not Instant!)

    Finally, depending on your plan, if SMS is NOT included, or if you have a fairly low number of included messages, being that every message sent and received is another SMS message, it can get VERY EXPENSIVE!

    The base AT&T BlackBerry Personal Data Plan ($34.99/mo) includes Unlimited DATA, but NO SMS Text messaging which costs 10-15 cents PER MESSAGE! At that rate, you can spend a LOT more than the cost of Jive Talk or IM+ which use DATA and therefore give you unlimited IM, connects to the IM Network, and allows more than one connection at a time.
