Is tethering included in the Blackberry Unlimited Data Plan for Tmobile? Also would it be a good idea to tether it to a PC for a backup internet source when I have DSL already setup? Main thing is I dont wanna do it and find out I get charged a big sum for something I didnt know about. Also if anyone knows the connection speed feel free to share also.

    1) You won't be charged extra. I did it for 2 days myself.
    2) I have cable access setup and was able to tether for 2 days.
    3) I THINK it was 115kbps.

I do it on a regular basis. You will get no chargers and my connection speed is always at 921.6Kbps. Go for it!

I talked to tmo when I first tethered my pearl they ENCOURAGE people to tether!
Everythume I tether I get 115.2 kbps and I read some where that is the highest that the pearl 'modem'can go I don't know how tfrankson is getting higher!

I believe 115kbps is the correct rate.

If you really want to know what your network speeds are, go to http://wap.jbenchmark.com/index.html and download JBenchmark Net! (One of the Cool apps listed in my Mini Version Tracker)

Tethering is using your blackberry as a modem...

Actually in this instance it is using your BB as a modem to access your carriers internet. For example if you have TMO and unlimited data you can connect your BB via USB and connect to the internet at no additional cost. As posted, speed is only so-so but it works and beats no internet or even $10 a day hotel rates!

Can even be used in a moving car....
