~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I'm booing the 8100. Sure it make look sexy. But the functionality of my 8700 rocks and I can't imagine not having qwerty. And a camera has never been that important to me. But a trackwheel is key!! I think if the 4.2 OS turns out to be a good upgrade I will have no need to upgrade equipment. But on another note--who has seen that 8710 vodaphone is coming out with in Europe. Or so I saw months ago

    Re: 8700 vs. 8100

The camera's not a big plus but would be interesting. I'm concerned about the decision to do away with the trackwheel but I don't pre-judge things without trying them first. Memory slot is a big plus. Hopefully RIM has kept the device stable even with the new features. I'm holding out to see if they release a qwerty version. SureType really drives me insane.

I'm looking forward to all the new features in the 8100 (camera, microSD slot, voice-dialing).

    Re: 8700 vs. 8100

This is a very hard decision for me, seeing that this will be my first BB.
I want the 8700 NOW, but I also want to wait to see the 8100 coming next month and if BlackBerry comes out with the 8100 QWERTY, I would want that.

I just wonder if I will actually NEED a microSD slot. Afterall, BB has done so well without that and everyone who has ever used a BB certainly didn't need it before.

    I also don't have a digi cam.

    Decisions, decisions!!!

    Good point.

Probably a REALLY STUPID question but... I don't fully understand how much a BB w/o a microsd can hold, somebody care to put in layman's terms?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~Not so sure I'll be getting rid of my 8700c, but I will definitely get an 8100 when Cingular gets it. Hopefully it will be soon. I'm really stoked about this device.

    Re: 8700 vs. 8100

I've been thinking that I want the full QWERTY keyboard, .... and the 8100 screen seems tiny compared to the 8700. Does this sway anyone's desicion?

    Re: 8700 vs. 8100

I'm sticking to the 8700. If I wanted a camera & multimedia stuff, I would have kept using my Treo. The suretype keyboard is another turnoff, too.

I like the "form factor" of the 8100, just doesn't fit my needs like the 8700. Nothing wrong with either one really....just personal preference.

    Re: 8700 vs. 8100

i'm sooo going for the 8100.....the camara isn't too big of a deal with me but the whole multi media thing is totally cool for me! suretype doesn't even bother me, i can still type like a mad man with the sure type....i believe my contract is up in dec. i'll probably wait till jan or so to see if there are other models for tmobile at the time...and the track ball, sounds kind of interesting hopfully it wont be annoying..
