I'm totally with EricaJ. If Nextel and/or Sprint doesn't get it, I'll probably be changing carriers (and paying the termination fee).

Not here. will go to the 8703e when released. And I will recommend to my users not to get the 8100, for those that are on Tmobile, because I will not support something with a camera. Needless to say, they will have problems going into certain buildings having the camera, where as now, they dont have any issues.

Very good point, I know for a fact you can't bring a camera phone into a court house... but I still would like the 8100, im looking into getting the 7130e right now

what is the difference between the 8700 and the 8703? as far as i can tell they look like the same phone. Will there be some kind of app modifications or something?

I won't upgrade until they implement 8100 features in a 8700 form factor

    8703 is the Verizon version.
I already have visited my Tmo rep and will have one held for me. SD is way to crucial for me, and a camera would be convenient for work. I can't wait.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~oh yea my old phone had a camera. I had it for a year and maybe took a total of 10 pics in that time. Now maybe if it was 5 megapixels or higher might be a different story

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I like the design of the 8100 but since I know Nextel won't get it, there's no sense in getting my hopes up.

    Re: 8700 vs. 8100

I'm looking forward to all the new features in the 8100 (camera, microSD slot, voice-dialing), but I don't know if I can go without the scroll wheel. It's part of what attracted me to BlackBerry in the first place. If they keep both the wheel and the new trackball, it seems to me that wheel vs. trackball could be the new QWERTY vs. SureType.

I am fine with the suretype. I don't care about the camera. I like the multimedia capabilities. I am curious to try out the ball instead of a wheel.

    Re: 8700 vs. 8100

Considering the price of the 8100, pretty much ANYONE can afford one (I'd hope most people who can afford a BlackBerry, even if for personal use, can afford $200). My company will be purchasing me one, as I can get any device that requires new policy testing.

N8DBB, word on the street is that there will be a WiFi/GSM BlackBerry out before year's end. I haven't heard anything more on the release, though. I'd consider that a rumor, at best, for now.

Other rumors floating around say there will be a camera/SD memory-enabled full QWERTY by the start of Q2 next year.

    Re: 8700 vs. 8100

Before my first blackberry the 7100t I had a Nokia 3650. I took hundreds of pictures with it. When I bought my blackberry I also bought a digital camera and recently purchased a mp3 player. But hey I didn't mind suretype. At first some of those typo like 'see' or 'are" were annoying but you can setup the dictionary with your perferred words and they say this one has improved suretype. Also the keys are bigger so I find the suretype easier for one-handed typing lefty or righty.
I bought the 8700 when it first came out but if their is a new BB device on tmobile I know I will their the first day to buy it.
I like to have the latest and greatest!
