Actually you didnt quite "brick" it, you just damaged the themes somehow. I did the exact same thing on my friends, loaded all the themes on at once and when I restarted it no themes would load and everything looked like ****. I just removed all of the themes and put on a select few and it works like a charm now.. Anywho, it appears the new vzw software will not allow the old trick as I just updated my 8830 to the latest and received the error about the net.rim.browser.xml as well. I had to use the loader to place them all back on there.

    *NOOB*

Hey, I used the JLGUI to load over all the vendor themes, and I too had the issue where the only one I could activate was the "none".

All I really want is a theme that JUST shows my calendar items, as well as the 5 icons at the bottom of the home screen. If not, something similar.

But, can anyone help as to why i can't get them to work once they're loaded over??

Re: 8130 Vendor theme installation (DIY)

alright, so I deleted and restarted and got some of them to show. The Orange and 02 today themes are still not.

Does anyone know of any today theme that JUST has the calendar items, not the call logs, msgs, etc. I want basically the 5 icons at the bottom, with my calendar displaying, like the motoQ, nokiaE62, etc.

This is a lot more challenging than it appears at first. Runtime error "53". File not found.

That's what I get when I drag and drop the themes and click install.

i had way too many problems with the desktop manager, i could have spent days in the dark
telus is a great provider, but im sure everyone has their flaws.
thanks to the java loader, no problemo....
    quick question tho...
why does desktop manager use the .atx...etc...and the java uses .cod
is there a difference, will it cause conflict....?

No it will not cause problems. Actually, both desktop manager and javaloader use cod files. Well that's nt really true. Neither uses cod files, it's the BlackBerry theat uses cod files. Desktop manager uses the alx file to determine which cod files get loaded. With javaloader the user has to specify which file to load.individually.
