    8130 Signal Quality Question

I currently have a 7130e with Verizon. I have had more dropped calls with the 7130 than all my other Verizon phones combined. The ability of the 7130 to hold onto a call is relatively poor compared to the others (V710, E815, VX8300).

Is the 8130 any better in the signal department than the 7130e?

    Thanks in advance!

I have no issues with my 8130 dropping calls.. it could just be your 7130 is a bad device. Does it happen everywhere or just certain places?

    Re: 8130 Signal Quality Question

my service is pretty good compared to alot of phones i have previously owned. it gets a steady 2 bars where other phones would go in and out of service, but my only complaint seems to be when i am in a evdo area then goto a 1x region then back to evdo, it doesn't like to switch back to evdo on it's own...maybe i just dont give it enough time to click back over...

Well, it could be that my 7130 is the problem. When I noticed that the 7130 was having problems, I took it out of service and started to use a Mot E815, which worked much better. I now use the 7130 on a secondary number that I don't use very often.

I did use the 7130 in my home today and had the call drop, where my LG VX8300 has no problem. If you have had no problems with the 8130 then hopefully it will do better for me than the 7130 has.

    Thanks for the reply!

Which other phones have you used that you are making the comparison with?

    Thanks!

Thanks. It sounds like the 8130 can hold its own.

    Re: 8130 Signal Quality Question

I haven't had any issues in my area (central Ohio). I have noticed however, that my phones seem to get progressively worse as time goes on (in terms of signal strength). Not sure why (unless you want to advance a conspiracy theory). Also, I did have a customer who had an 8830 that needed replaced because of constant dropped calls. So it could be an issue with your current 7130.
