    8120 Email Gmail and Facebook problems??

    I'm having real problems with my BlackBerry 8120 email setup. The set up wizard only gives me two options for email: 'set up later' or 'the enterprise set up'. Where do I go to set up the individual email set up?

    I see on the Applications list that there is an 'Email Setup Application', but I don't know how to access it.

    I've tried downloading the Gmail application, but it doesn't work either; it says that the network is unavailable and the program requires a data connection.

    I've also downloaded the facebook application, but it has similair message to Gmail.

    By the way, I have done the Host Routing Table if thats of any relevance.

    I am on 02 UK and I can go on the web via WiFi, make calls and send texts.

    Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

    BlackBerry requires a BlackBerry data plan to do anything with email/web

    You won't be able to use any of the data functions you are looking for, especially the email, without a Blackberry Data Plan. Pay as you Go plans do not function with Blackberries. Call O2's customer care and they can get your account provisioned properly.

    Based on the apps you're describing, you really do not want a pay as you go plan anyway, it'll add up quick and you'll wish you had just gotten a regular plan. (if it were possible to do it that way)

    Hi,
    My wife just bought an O2 8120. She called O2 and set up the data plan, and went to the O2 website to set up the BIS details (PIN, IMEI, etc) for her Yahoo account, and sent the device a service book. Nada. Nicht. Nix. Nothing works. The phone does not even offer the "setup personal email account" option in the setup.

    I was wondering if it could be a problem with the SIM card? When I received my corporate blackberry, over a year ago, they had to get a new SIM card for the phone to work. My wife's SIM card is at least 3 years old; could that be the issue? Any pointers would be gratefully received.

    O2 technical support is proving to be complete rubbish by the way; is it just the time of year?
